Amateur JAV sites
Shirouto, written 素人, is the Japanese industry's word for amateur, and it describes a format more than a fact: unknown or first-time performers, an interview before the scene, handheld camerawork and little plot. Sites in this group either build everything around that format or keep a named amateur section. G-AREA and Mywife are Japanese-language memberships of this kind, 10musume is a counterpart that states its video carries no mosaic, and HAJIME-KIKAKU is a maker that presents itself as an amateur specialist. Live chat sites use the word too, for hosts who are not professional performers. The useful distinctions are whether a site is a subscription, a store or a label that only points elsewhere, whether its video carries a mosaic, and how much of it can be read without Japanese.
