What ROOKIE is

ROOKIE (ルーキー) is an adult video maker with an official site at rookie-av.jp. Its page titles describe it as an AV maker where star actresses, directors and producers gather, and the footer calls it a general maker that keeps evolving, with a copyright line running "since 2009". Everything on the site is written in Japanese.

This is a studio showcase, not a store. The pages hold a release list, a search, an actress index, a link page and a contact form, but no cart, no login, no price and no player. Anyone who wants to watch or buy a title leaves for a retailer. As for who is behind it, the age check speaks of 弊社 (a company's word for itself) without giving that company a name, and the 企画・製作 (planning and production) label on the contact form has nothing after it, so ROOKIE is the one name on the site.

rookie-av.jp never says whether its video is censored; video sold in Japan is mosaic-censored.

What it carries and how it is organized

The footer slogan, repeated on the inner pages, sums up the range in the maker's own wording: a wide spread of genres, with 16-hour best-of compilations (16時間ベスト) named among them. The top page shows what that looks like in practice. A release block groups titles under their release dates, and the dates in the block read October 13, 2026, September 29, 2026 and September 8, 2026. The October 13 block mixes new releases with two compilation volumes. One is titled as a 28-title, 8-hour collection built around one performer's work; the other is a clothed-scene compilation billed as 8 hours with a cast of 6. The September 8 block has two more: a second 28-title, 8-hour best-of for a single performer and a compilation billed at 8 hours with a cast of 10. September 29 stands alone with a single title, and the released-titles list files it the same way, under its date with the count 1作品 (1 work). So the pattern is a few new releases per date plus long compilation sets.

The top page also carries a featured-genre bar, a featured-keyword bar and a featured-series bar. The genres listed include creampie (中出し), best-of and omnibus volumes (ベスト・総集編), big-bust (巨乳), squirting (潮吹き) and collaborations with an original work (原作コラボ). The keywords are the maker's own name and the strings RKI770, RKI772, RKI767, RKI766 and Rki. They are written in Latin letters and digits, so a reader who cannot read the menus can still type them into a search box. The series bar names a ROOKIE compilation series (ROOKIEベスト), a ROOKIE actress-hits series (ROOKIE女優HITS!) and ROOKIE VR, among others. The VR name matters for headset owners: ROOKIE VR is listed as a series, but the pages say nothing about VR formats, resolution, headsets or where the VR titles can be watched.

Navigation mirrors what a retailer would offer. Across the top run latest titles (最新作品), upcoming titles (予約作品), a title search (作品検索) and an actress list (女優一覧). The actress list is sorted by the rows of the Japanese syllabary (a, ka, sa, ta, na, ha, ma, ya, ra, wa) and has a 新着・ピックアップ (new and pick-up) entry ahead of them. The sitemap page explains each part in a line. The actress list presents the performers who appear in ROOKIE works. Search finds works by reservation, by release, by release date, by series and by genre, and each of those has a sub-page of its own. The reservation and release lists show one date block per release day with the titles under it.

The lower part of each page adds several corporate pages. A recruitment section lists openings for new graduates and mid-career staff, and for outside designers, video editors, camera operators, writers, makeup artists, stylists, web directors and AV editing staff, and the sitemap files them under a hiring page (採用情報) of ROOKIE's own. There is an affiliate recruitment page, an information section, a personal-information policy and a stores page. The sitemap describes the stores page as introducing the shops that carry ROOKIE titles; the shop names themselves are on that page, not in the sitemap.

The link page and FANZA

The clearest hint at where ROOKIE sits in the industry is the link page, which the sitemap describes as a page of links to makers. It opens with FANZAニュース, a news service the page says is free to read, and then groups makers by specialty under Japanese headings: general makers (総合AVメーカー, where MOODYZ and ワンズファクトリー stand), performer-led makers (女優推し, opening with S1), mature and married-woman makers (熟女), fetish makers (マニア・フェチ), a lesbian-specialist maker (レズ) and planning makers (企画). After those come a toy brand, a games and doujin heading, an event site for AV actresses and an adult auction site. Each entry carries a one-line slogan from the linked company, and ROOKIE itself is not among the entries. The list ends with FANZA, whose blurb promises adult video streaming, DVD rental and adult mail order and claims one of the largest selections in Japan (国内最大級の品揃え).

A bar at the foot of the page repeats the FANZA link: its tabs read Home, Actress, FANZA, Works and Event (ホーム, 女優, FANZA, 作品, イベント). The pages therefore point ROOKIE's audience to FANZA for purchase and viewing, but they do not say that ROOKIE releases are sold only there. The link page lists the other makers as destinations only; it does not claim that ROOKIE and those makers are related companies.

Japan mechanics: language, region, age gate

rookie-av.jp opens on an age check (年齢チェック). The check says the site is an adult site, that anyone under 18 who enters may be punished under national or regional rules, and that the company accepts no responsibility for any outcome. A visitor answers はい (yes, enter) to the question of being 18 or over, or いいえ (no). Inside, a line stating that all performers in the works are 18 or older sits at the foot of the pages. The age check also lists recommended browsers: the latest versions of Google Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Safari.

On overseas access there is no region notice, no block for visitors outside Japan and no statement that the site is meant for readers abroad. English appears only in section labels such as RELEASE, NEW RELEASE, SITEMAP and LINK, in the copyright line and in the reCAPTCHA notice on the form. The contact form is presented as a suggestion box (投書フォーム): a message of up to 500 characters with a name and an email address entered twice, every field marked required, and sending it counts as agreeing to the personal-information policy. ROOKIE says there that submissions serve as reference for the future and that no replies are given.

The notices on the top page date back to a site renewal on July 14, 2022, with system-maintenance notices on January 18, 2023 and January 24, 2024.

Price, access and billing

There is nothing to buy on the site, so its pages carry no price, plan, points system, trial, refund term or payment method. Access means browsing: release lists, the actress index, the link page and search all open after the age check, without an account. Viewing and purchase happen at the retailers the maker links to, with FANZA the one named in the bar at the foot of the page. Foreign cards, overseas shipping and subtitles are the retailer's to state, so a buyer outside Japan reads that store's terms before paying.

Who it suits

ROOKIE suits a viewer who already knows the maker's titles and wants a clean list of upcoming releases with dates before going to a store. It also suits someone mapping the Japanese adult video industry, because the link page is a compact list of makers grouped by specialty, each with its own slogan. It is a weaker fit for a reader who wants English text, subtitles, a price or a place to stream, since the site offers none of these. The caveat to keep in mind is language: every page is Japanese, and questions about censoring and overseas sales are settled at the retailer.
